Data Security
We take the issue of Data Security and the protection of licensed software extremely seriously. Not only is there a requirement to protect data under the Data Protection Act but also there are issues of commercial and client confidentiality to consider. We therefore offer different levels of security depending on each client’s requirements. A summary of the process is below:
- All hard-drives and equipment are physically shredding in line with our WEEE
recycling policy of shredding all equipment unless it is as part of our asset
management service which is provided separately from our recycling collections.
- Asset Management service computers data security is maintained by utilising specific eradication software that
overwrites all sectors on the hard-drive with check-data, completely
obliterating previous data, including any licensed software. this is only for
separately collected computers under the asset management service.
- A certificate of data destruction is issued to the customer.
For more information about why you should use a company who values their
promises to securely data wipe your computer hard drives please follow
this link to view what happens when computer recycling is done by the
unscrupulous companies who are collecting the equipment for free and selling
them onto the third world countries.
